18. Approaches to teaching Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking.

Purpose: This course will consider how modern theories of language acquisition, language pedagogy, and learning philosophies can inform the teaching of traditional language skills in the second language classroom. Students will take away both practical and theoretical knowledge that can be immediately transferred to their language classes to help construct more successful language currículums that assist their students in acquiring a second language.

19. Styles and strategies in language learning.

Purpose: This class will discuss how students use different styles and strategies to acquire a language. These various approaches will be discussed and examples will be provided. The participants will learn to recognize the various learning styles and strategies as well as implement classroom approaches that will best accomodate students with different learning strategies and styles.
